MILF Members with Firearms Surrenders to
CMO Battalion

Fort Bonifacio - Four (4) former MILF members surrendered with their high powered firearms and other war paraphernalias to MAJ NELSON DE LA CRUZ, Commanding Officer of the 1st Community Organizing and Development (CODE) Company, CMO Battalion stationed at Baseco, Port Area, Manila yesterday at around 4:40 in the afternoon. According to the four former MILF they were members of the 2nd Battalion of the 201st Brigade of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front stationed at Camp Abubakar, Maguindanao. The four were identified namely: Jojo Salik Kasim; Jo Manuel A Kasan, 30 years old; Nel Mamakan B Manibpil, 38 years old; Macky Masmalana Kasan, 26 years old and certain George, 29 years old. The four were members of the team led by Kamisa Baguilan Alias Kumander Jaron who earlier surrendered to the CMO Battalion. The four also turned-over one (1) M16 Armalite Rifle, one (1) short magazine for M16 rifle, two (2) 30 Caliber revolver, four (live) ammunition and one (1) upper camouflage uniform worn by MILF members

According to the four MILF members, they decided to finally go back to the fold of the law because of the efforts they had witnessed on the members of the 1st CODE Coy in Baseco.

On tha other hand, COL BUENAVENTURA C PASCUAL, Battalion Commander of the CMO Battalion welcomed the four MILF members and assured the rebel returnees of the developmental programs the government has in store for them.
