Soldiers Help in Clean-up Drive/Deffoging and Tree Planting in Q.C

 

The 3rd Community Organizing and Development (CODE) Company deployed in Brgy Payatas and the newly deployed 4th CODE in Molave, Payatas conducts community services through clean-up drive, defogging, and tree planting in the different areas of Brgy Payatas such as Golden Shower St., Phase 2-B; Golden Shower St., Phase2-A; Golden Shower St., Phase 1-B; Narra St., Molave; Trece St., Upper Brgy Bagong Silangan; and Upper and Lower Litex Road on 20-25 August 2007.

The local government of Brgy Payatas headed by Brgy Chairwoman Rose Dadulo initiated to conduct a tree planting activity with the support of the troops deployed in their area. A total of 258 assorted fruit-bearing and non fruit-bearing seedlings were planted in the barangay.

On 20 August 2007, troops of 1st CODE Coy under CPT CEFERINO M LOGRONIO JR, Executive Officer of 1st CODE Coy and Barangay Chairman Tony Cayetano with the Barangay Council together with Mrs Thelma Lim, president of a local women's group SAMABA, initiated a tree planting activity in Brgy 310, Sta. Cruz, Manila. This effort is in support to the city government's clean and green environment campaign and the Brgy’s Green Planet Movement to prevent flooding, pollution, and global warming.
